Merry Christmas from the Symons!
I hope your holiday season has been as joyous as ours.
We've been lucky enough to see all the family this year. We started celebrating Saturday when we drove to Austin to do Christmas with my family. Amber hosted the whole family this year and as always, it was fun to see the kiddos open gifts.
We then spent Christmas Eve at Gigi's house. She cooked a wonderful dinner and her house was decorated to the max! She goes all out with a huge village display that's really neat to see. Gina and her family were there, so it was a full house with lots of love.
Around 7:00 BJ and I went to an exquisite candlelight service at our church. The sanctuary alone was breathtaking, but the music and message nearly brought me to tears.
That evening we went to Oma's house for her annual Christmas Eve party. She cooks a whole arrangement of delicious holiday foods - some of which are German favorites. The whole house was filled with candles and the gifts took up nearly all of the family room!
On Christmas day, BJ, Gucci & I got up and open gifts. Santa even remembered our stockings! (Thanks, beej! Mrs. Clause was slacking!) It was really neat to have our first real Christmas together. But there will be many more to come!!
We spent the afternoon at Wendy's house. All the boys were trying out their new toys and there was even more food to be eaten!
We wrapped up the evening with BJ's dad. All in all it was a perfect was to spend the Holidays. We're really blessed to have so much family near and I'm glad we could spend it with everyone.
Merry Christmas!
